Board of Selectmen Minutes 03/06/2009
3 – 6 – 09

At a special meeting of the Randolph Board of Selectmen held Friday, March 6, 2009, the following were present:  Chairman Paul J. Connors and members William Alexopoulos, Maureen C. Kenney, and Paul K. Fernandes, and Executive Secretary David C. Murphy.  The meeting opened at 5:05 p.m.  (Vice Chairman and Clerk James F. Burgess, Jr. was working and unable to attend.)  Government Study Committee members Roz Vineberg and Jean Duddy were also present.

(Mr. Fernandes was running late due to a work commitment in Boston.  The meeting was suspended until Mr. Fernandes could be reached.)

At 5:50 p.m. the meeting resumed when Mr. Fernandes arrived.  Mr. Connors referred to the final version of the government reform document.  He had high praise for our legislative delegation as well as the Government Study Committee.  There were only minor corrections made from the Secretary of State’s office.  Mr. Alexopoulos and Mr. Fernandes both indicated that they had reviewed the document.  Mr. Connors said this was acted on Monday by the House and Senate, and the Governor’s office this week.  This meeting was properly posted and legal.  He thanked the Board for making every effort to be here.

Mr. Alexopoulos moved to accept the final version of the government reform document.  Seconded by Ms. Kenney.  There were brief remarks by Government Study Committee members Roz Vineberg and Jean Duddy who thanked the Board.  It was noted that Mr. Burgess was unable to attend this meeting but that he had been presented with the final document.  Voted, 4-0.

Mr. Murphy presented the MAPC Pre-Disaster Plan, as approved by FEMA, for acceptance by the Board.  This is a standard plan update and makes Randolph residents eligible to apply for FEMA relief grants.  He thanked the MAPC for their work on this project.   Mr. Alexopoulos moved to accept the plan.  Seconded by Mr. Fernandes.  Voted, 4-0.

Meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
